James R. "Jim" Steiner

James R. "Jim" Steiner, 76, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

Jim was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Bluffton, to Woodrow and Betty (Clymer) Steiner. He married Linda Dunlap Steiner on Nov. 14, 1981, and she survives.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of Bluffton High School and was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. He dedicated 35 years to Ford Motor Company of Lima and also worked for Marathon Oil Company for five years. He was a member of United Auto Workers. He enjoyed wood working, martial arts, cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Steiner of Pandora; five children, Steve (Janette) Steiner of Lima, Thomas (Anne) Downey of Bluffton, Jesse (Christa) Steiner of Springfield, Ohio, Amy (Scott) Karhoff of Rawson, and Carrie (Jared) Reichenbach of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren, Abigail Gwin of Pandora, Casey (Jacob) Houtz of Findlay, Erin Steiner of Dayton, Mattie Steiner of Springfield, Jenna Downey of Bluffton, Mitchell (Morgan) Karhoff of Nevada, Ohio, Michael (Cecelia Tresick) Karhoff of New Baltimore, Michigan, McKenzie Karhoff of Rawson, Ashley Augsburger of Bowling Green, and Levi Augsburger of Ada; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Beery; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings, Joseph Steiner, Richard Reichenbach, Sarah Murphy, John Steiner, and Judy Steiner.

Jim's services will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. The Rev. Jeremy Mann will officiate. Burial will be at Clymer Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
