James "Jim" Taylor Meador, 86, of Carey, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Jim was born Nov. 2, 1936, in Crab Orchard, West Virginia, to the late Creed and Odessa (Spangler) Meadows. He married Helen Ritzler on Dec. 11, 1970, and she survives.

Jim is also survived by seven children, Tom (Kim) Meador, Robin (John) Nungester, Paul Ritzler, Tammy (Kenny) Chundzinski, Shari (Tim) Lutz, Michelle (Scott) Beier, and Deanna (Jesse) Blakley; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Phyllis) Meadows; and sister, Sandy Hawkins.

Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie VanWelden; brother, A.E. (Bud) Moye; and three sisters, Betty McDowell, Mary Lou Rosendalem and June Hampshire.

Jim loved driving semi, running heavy equipment, mechanicing, and welding. He was a jack of all trades. Not only was he hard working, but he was also loving and kind. He never met a stranger. Everyone became a friend.
