James Foltz

James R. "Jim" Foltz, 78, of Findlay, passed away at The Willows at Willard Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was born December 25, 1946, in Findlay, the son of the late Robert "Bob" and Evelyn (Coppler) Foltz. On July 3, 1965, he married Cheryl Ann Bender, who preceded him in death July 19, 2016.

Other survivors include a son, Chad (Vickie) Foltz of Marion; daughters, Kim (Patrick) McCarthy of Findlay and Kristi Fredo, of Columbus. His grandchildren, Katie Gruber, Dominic Fredo III, Kylee Fredo, Anthony Fredo and Trevor Foltz; stepgrandchildren, Luke, Brieann, and Reed Axline; great-grandchildren, Olivia Gruber, Isabella Franco, Maverick Fredo, Colton Fredo, and Bianca Franco; as well as a brother, Doug (Jane) Foltz of Rawson; and a sister, Nancy Kitchen of Findlay.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; a son, James "Jimmy" Foltz; and sisters, Carol Gibbs and Debbie Dehring.

James was employed at Whirlpool Factory in Findlay for 40 years, retiring in 2006. He then worked at Great Lakes Toyota for 15 years. Family was the center of James world. He worked as a tire and motor man for the "Mad As Sin" truck with McCarthy Pulling Team in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana, where he was known as "Outlaw". He loved old cars and his El Camino. He spent a lot of time at American Legion in Findlay, mowing grass and MacGyvering things. Family came first, and James was always there to help fix a car or lend a hand.

Visitation will be from 10-1 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at COLDREN CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Brent Smalley officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
