James W. "Jim" Fletcher
James W. Fletcher (Jim), 86, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at ProMedica Hospital surrounded by family.
Born November 29, 1938, in Churubusco, Indiana, Jim was the son of the late Leslie and Minnie Fletcher. A proud graduate of Vanlue High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and served at Redstone Arsenal, where he specialized in equipment repair until completing his service in 1963. That same year, Jim married Marilyn Taylor, and together they had three children before separating in 1971.
In 1976, Jim married Cindy (Clark) Reimund. The following year, they vacationed in Colorado, quickly growing fond of the area. The trip led to a permanent move, and in 1978, they settled in Denver with Cindy's two daughters. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, camping, boating, and, in the winter, snowmobiling and skiing. Jim and Cindy also enjoyed spending their weekends dancing with friends.
After a fulfilling 30-year career in the telephone industry, Jim retired from AT&T in 1999. In 2001, Jim and Cindy made Green Valley, Arizona their home, where they continued to dance and made cherished memories on houseboat trips to Lake Powell. Their children and grandchildren fondly remember the summers Jim and Cindy spent traveling east in their motor home, visiting Ohio and Pennsylvania.
In late 2012, Jim and Cindy moved back to Findlay to be closer to family, where they spent the remainder of Jim's years together.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy; children, James (Kelly) Fletcher, Jerry (Terry) Fletcher, Terri (Jerry) Blair, and Tisha (Travis) Lumbrezer; grandchildren, Ryan (Kodi), Cody (Carlee), Jessica (Jeremy), Jeremy, Danielle, Jerry, Erika (Tyler), Kortni (David), Josie (Tom), Ron (Missy), DJ (Emily), and Alexandria (Vlad); 27 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty and Billy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Corbin, and Perry; daughter, Tiffany; and grandson, Joshua.
Please join Jim's family from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church Annex, where Jim and Cindy were married in the chapel, to celebrate Jim's life and cherish his wonderful laugh.
