Huberta Prochaska Obituary
Huberta "Bert" A. Prochaska, 97, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Willow Ridge, Bluffton. Born September 18, 1928, in Charles City, Iowa, to the late Frank and Alice (Pospichal) Clark. She married Charles J. Prochaska of Orchard, Iowa, November 11, 1950. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing December 6, 2011.
They were blessed with eight children, Steven (Carla), Laura (Stephen) Switzer, Jane (Bill) Cole, Paul, deceased, David (Susan), Dan (Susan), John A., deceased, and Martin (Dena); 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Bert was a devout Catholic, a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and hosting many family celebrations and holidays, during which her family savored her excellence in the kitchen.
Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, downtown chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Burial will follow at Bishop Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Bert to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
