Hilbern Lyle Stillberger

Hilbern Lyle Stillberger, 87, of Findlay, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital with his family by his side. He was born June 10, 1935, in Findlay, the son of the late Max and Dorothy (Huston) Stillberger. He married Nancy Lee (Schlumbohm) Stillberger on July 13, 1957, and she survives in Findlay.

Survivors include his children, Terence (Carlene) Stillberger, Christopher (Ida) Stillberger, Susan (Craig) Marks, and Julie (Terry) Geisler; grandchildren, Jessica Schwartz, Laurie Sadler, Lisa Simon, Ashley Benedict, Shelby Cumberledge, Madison Marks, Rachael Geisler, Jack Geisler, and Teddy Geisler; great-grandchildren, Carlee Simon, Kaylee Simon, Spencer Sadler, Hudson Sadler, Avery Benedict, Andrew Benedict, Rowan Cumberledge, and Beckett Cumberledge; and siblings, Karen (Bob) Bash, Cheryl Snellgrove, and Jane (Damon) Davenport. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, Bill Snellgrove.

Hilbern was employed at Dow Chemical as a millwright and journeyman for 35 years, retiring in 1995. His memberships included Powell Memorial United Methodist Church and American Legion. He served his country in U.S. Army, serving for two years in Germany. He also enjoyed eating out, playing cards, music, classic cars, and farming.

Friends and family may call 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Graveside services will take place at Benton Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Bowland officiating. Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will accord full military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed towards Powell Memorial United Methodist Church.
