Glenn Geldmacher Obituary

Glenn G. Geldmacher

Glenn Gale Geldmacher, 65, passed away of natural causes Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at his home in Clyde.

Glenn was born Sept. 18, 1958, in Marietta, to Glenn and Lola (Schockling) Geldmacher.

Glenn lived in Lewisville for most of his childhood years, graduating from Skyvue High School in 1977. Glenn worked at several businesses in southeastern Ohio including Baker & Sons. Glenn received a certificate of welding and fabrication from Belmont Technical College before relocating to northwest Ohio where he worked at several companies before working as a mechanic and welder for 30 years at Style Crest, Inc. in Fremont. He retired in Oct., 2023, and was looking forward to a long and relaxing retirement, but God had other plans. He was in the process of moving from Clyde to Arlington, downsizing and getting closer to family when his life abruptly ended. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde.

Glenn is survived by his sister, Mary Yolanda Cline; nephew, Gregory Cline; nieces, Julie Zeeuw, Lisa Whitacre Jones, and Jennifer Whitacre; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jamie Jones, Ashley Jones, Jaydon Gardner, Emily Cline, Diane Cline Hastings, and Melanie Justis; and great-great-nieces, Braelyn Jones and Anora Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Pastelak Whitacre; brother-in-law, Myron Cline; and great-nephew, David Justis.

Glenn lived a simple life of work, family, and play. He enjoyed Ohio State Buckeyes and spending time with his beloved Golden Retriever, Rusty. He was a kind and gentle soul with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed history, especially the particulars of the battle of Gettysburg. He loved to relax on the porch swing with Rusty by his side. He never forgot his roots in southeastern Ohio and would return there on vacation. He treasured the times spent with family and a good home-cooked meal. He was quick to pray rosaries for others in need. Glenn was grateful for all those who were kind to him along his life's journey.

Glenn overcame many obstacles in his life, especially losing his dad when he was a young boy. He idolized his dad and was proud he had taken up the same profession as his father.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 750 Bright Rd., Findlay, with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld presiding. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Fr. David Gaydosik, a relative from Glenn's maternal line, will perform the interment Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville.

If you so desire, you may honor Glenn with a donation to Sandusky County Humane Society, 1315 N River Rd., Fremont, Ohio, 43420.
