Gertrude (Gert) K. Gary

Gertrude (Gert) K. Gary, 81, of Findlay, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. Gert was born Oct. 4, 1940, to the late John W. and Thelma K. (Powell) Treece. She was married to Terry D. Gary and they were subsequently divorced.

Gert is survived by her children, Cynthia (Craig) Brooks of Findlay, David (Deb) Gary of Findlay, Thomas (Pearl) Gary of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Jane Roy of Findlay, and Allen (Penny) Gary of Rawson; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and two more on the way; sister, Martha Gallagher of Findlay; brother, Paul Treece of Findlay; sister-in-law, Sharon Treece of Findlay; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her brother, John Treece; sister, Roberta (John) Parker; sister-in-law, Glenda Treece; and brother-in-law, Patrick Gallagher also preceded her in death.

Gert was a school bus driver for Findlay City Schools for 13 years. She was also a cook for Blanchard Valley Hospital for 15 years before retiring.

Gert loved to play mahjong and cards with her friends. She was always busy on Tuesdays, spending the afternoon with her friends. Gert also loved going to lunch on Wednesdays with her girls. She enjoyed hosting the monthly birthday dinners, listening to, and having fun with her family.

Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay. Gert's funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Gert loved red and would have also loved if those attending could wear a shade or two for her. She will be laid to rest at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice Care Center, Community Foundation, or Treece Family Scholarship Fund.
