Gerald Smith Obituary
Gerald N. "Jerry" Smith, 85, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
Jerry was born Oct. 22, 1937, in Toledo, to Samuel and Mildred (Gillespie) Smith. Jerry married Rita (Gard) Smith on May 6, 1995.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Gregg (Galya) Smith of San Diego, California; daughter, Tammy Lee VanTieghem of San Diego, California; sister, Joan (Mel, deceased) Lafferty of Ashland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda (Martin) Smith; brothers, Sam (Rosie, deceased) Smith of Bluffton and Ronald (Josephine, deceased) Smith of Lebanon; and sister, Bonita (Charles "Bud") Gould of Findlay.
Jerry enjoyed photography, bird watching, and loved comedy.
Jerry's funeral will be 12 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Pastor Mark Gregory officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hancock County Naturalists.
