George Stultz Obituary

George N. Stultz

George N. Stultz, 82, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. George was born May 9, 1942, in Findlay to the late George R. and Rosella J. (Montgomery) Stultz.

George had been a paperboy during high school and was named "Newspaper Boy of the Year" for the Findlay Courier in 1959 and graduated from Findlay High School in 1960. He later graduated from The Ohio State University and worked as a business administrator at First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio, and at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. After retirement, George moved back to the family farm to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the country. George enjoyed reading, gardening rooting for the Buckeyes and writing articles in the Bluffton News. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandson. Spreading his theological insights and progressive theology thinking to others not only at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church but to anyone that he could help was very important to him.

Survivors include two daughters, Katherine "Kathy" (Mark Baumann) Stultz and Elizabeth "Beth" Stultz both of the Columbus area; a grandson, George R. Stultz Baumann of the Columbus area; two brothers, John Stultz and David (Diane) Stultz both of Findlay; and his much loved companions, his dog, Trisha and his cat, Daisy.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rosella Stultz and numerous faithful, furry companions.

A Celebration of George's Life will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Bluffton Presbyterian Church. A time of fellowship and sharing of stories will follow the service at the church.

Giving was very important to George, so memorial contributions to a charity of your choice are encouraged in lieu of flowers.

George worked with my Mom, Nancy Baker at First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio in the 70´s. They became fast friends. Even though George moved to a new church community and ultimately Bluffton, they always stayed in touch.
Toward the end of my Mom´s life they would play online computer games together to span the distance. If George didn´t answer his Skype call at the prescribed time, my Mom had no qualms about calling the local authorities to go out and make a wellness check, in the event that George had fallen off a piece of farm equipment or been attacked by a wild animal. She was uneasy about him living alone on the family farm. Both George and my Mom were well read and liked to write. Many lively debates were had. I guess that´s what made them such good friends. I know his Bluffton church community will miss him as he was very active there, as will his twins, Kathy and Beth and his Grandson George. Know we share in your sorrow.

George was our paperboy on West Hobart in 1956. He was always friendly.
