Fannie Shearer Obituary

Fannie Sue Shearer

Fannie Sue Shearer, 81, of Houcktown, died at her residence at 11:49 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023. She was born May 13, 1941, in McComb, to the late Orill and Virginia (Burnam) Roy. She married Larry L. Shearer June 26, 1960, and he survives.

Also surviving are her son, Edward Roy Shearer of Fostoria; a daughter, Colene R. (Jeffrey) Lewis of Houcktown; two grandchildren, Kurri (Chantel) Lewis and Kourtney (Spenser) Smith; four great-grandchildren, Valo Lewis, Knox Lewis, Jax Smith and Jaya Smith; and a sister, Mary Jo Myers of Mt. Blanchard.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Roy.

Fannie retired as a housekeeper from University of Findlay, was a member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, and dearly loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18,2023, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Arlington. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church with visitation 9-10 a.m. prior to the funeral. Pastor Brett Kelly will officiate and interment will follow at Houcktown Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to either the church or to Hancock County Humane Society.
