Evelyn Jean Fletcher
Evelyn Jean "Lynne" Fletcher went into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
Lynne was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Cleveland, to Mary and Harry Davis.
She is survived by her husband, James, whom she married May 19, 1956, and they were married for 67 years; children, James Fletcher of Findlay, Laura (Dave) Baker of Oregon, Ohio, Linda Corder of Findlay, and Randal (Amy) Fletcher of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Aaron (Caroline), Jennifer, Susan, Tyler (Jessica), Greg (Kate), Tiffany (Jake), Katie, Isaac, and Ethan; and great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Madilynn, James, Fhalyshia (Drew), Ben, Oliver, Ezra, Linley, and Asher. Lynne was "Grandmother of the Year" every day. She is also survived by half-brothers, Dick (Wendy) Davis of De Graff, Harry Davis of Kansas, and Jim Davis of Florida; half-sister, Rowena Lump of De Graff; stepsister, Betty Erwin of Columbus; and niece, Kim.
Lynne and Jim spent most of their life together in Lima, but made the move to Findlay in 2015 to be closer to family. Lynne managed the Anthony Brothers Restaurant in downtown Lima. She also worked for the Marimor School and Metzger Accounting. She was a member of the Audubon Society and of the Johnny Appleseed Park District in Allen County. Lynne and Jim served as campground hosts at Maumee Bay and Indian Lake State Parks and the Johnny Appleseed Park District Campground. She volunteered for the Muleshoe Ranch CMA in
Willcox, Arizona.
Lynne used to travel with her family to many National Parks and oceans having family fun and experiences. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends and having celebrations. Her birthdays were celebrated in their backyard with all their family, friends, and neighbors with food and music. During their retirement years, she traveled in their motor home touring the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Lynne and Jim spent many winters with friends in
Chandler, Arizona. One of her favorite trips was to Laughlin, Nevada, visiting the entertainment district and the casinos. She loved the travels and all the people along the way. Lynne was always friendly and outgoing.
Lynne's memorial gathering will be 3-5 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, with a celebration of life service at 4 p.m. at Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Avenue,
Findlay, Ohio, 45640.
To honor Lynne's life and legacy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District, Park District Foundation of Allen County.
