Eugene Stoepfel

Eugene "Gene" Stoepfel, 81, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

He was born Nov. 25, 1941, in Columbus Grove, to the late Victor J. and Zelma (Goedde) Stoepfel. He married Elaine R. Davis on April 19, 1968, and she survives in Findlay.

Gene is also survived by his son, Brian Eugene Stoepfel; granddaughter, Emmy Amelia Stoepfel; siblings, Jim (Jan) Stoepfel, Mary (Jack) Rutherford, Maggie (Tom) Thomas, Judy (Don) Cusac, Mike (Karen) Stoepfel, Rose (Tom) Phillips, and Tony (Cheryl) Stoepfel; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Jane Stoepfel, Mary Stoepfel, Lucille Schaade, Joellen Davis, and Becky Stoepfel; brother-in-law, Orval Davis; and granddog, Belle.

Gene was preceded in death by his siblings, David F. Stoepfel, Johnny L. Stoepfel, Charles Robert Stoepfel, Richard Stoepfel, and Elizabeth "Betty" Eiseman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold L. Davis Sr. and Bernice Davis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Thelma Davis, Harold Jr. Carol June, Darrell, and Gary Davis, Floyd, Verna Mae, and Jerry Davis, Orla, Norma, Colleen, and Les Davis, Phillip and Kevin Davis, and Donna Davis and Guy D. Schaade; and Gene's buddy, Sam, his yellow lab.

Gene graduated from McComb Local Schools, served four years in U.S. Navy, and retired from LIUNA local 574. He enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping.
