Eugene Preston Obituary
Eugene F. "Gene" Preston, 89 of Findlay, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Friday July 12, 2024, at Birchaven Retirement Community.
He was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Lima. Gene married Janie Partin and she preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2019.
Gene is survived by a granddaughter, Mendi Velazquez of Arlington (Mario Velazquez of Findlay); two great-granddaughters; and daughter-in-law, Patty Preston.
He was also preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Preston; and two sons, Darryl Preston and Garry Preston.
Gene attended Bible Methodist Church in Findlay. He enjoyed watching ice hockey and Major League Baseball, taking walks outdoors in the parks, and walking at Findlay Village Mall. He worked as a tire builder for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company before his retirement.
Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, until the time of Gene's funeral at 1 p.m. at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Pastor Travis J. Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, south of Ada.
