Earl Johnson Obituary

Earl H. Johnson, Jr., devoted, faithful, and protective husband of Tara L. Johnson, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Son of Stella Francis Johnson and Earl H. Johnson, Sr. Earl was a dedicated senior officer of the New Orleans Police Department where he served on the force for twenty years. He was also a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Staff Sergeant. He was a proud graduate of Warren Easton Fundamental Senior High School and Southern University at New Orleans where he received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He loved spending quality time with his beloved wife watching old movies and enjoying life to its fullest. Earl leaves to cherish his precious legacy of his loving wife Tara L. Johnson. His parents Stella Francis Johnson and Earl H. Johnson, Sr., mother-in-law Barbara C. Branch (Emmanuel), father-in-law Charles Lampton (Mildred), sister-in-law LaRhae Brown, brother-in-law Everett W. Brown, nieces Laila, Hannah, Ellah, nephew Everett, and a host of other relatives and friends. Clergy and members of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, United Believers Baptist Church, staff and employees of the New Orleans Police Department, Einstein Charter Schools, NOLA Public Schools, Ochsner Health Belle Chasse, members of The Most Worshipful Jerusalem Grand Lodge #60, and Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are invited to the celebration of life Wednesday, March 24, 2023, Gallier Hall 545 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130. Earl and I were partners in the 3rd district NOPD for 3 years in the mid 2000's. He saved my life once and I his. I had great times working the streets and learned a lot from him. You are missed brother, and not forgotten. Semper Fi devil dog.

My Dearest Friend Tara,

Marsha and I were deeply sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. Losing a loved one is never easy, and I can't even imagine the pain and sadness you are going through right now.
