Douglas Arter Obituary
Douglas E. Arter, 63, of Fremont, Ohio, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born March 16, 1959, in Fremont, the son of Robert Arter and Sharon (Davis) Greiner. Doug was a 1977 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Doug married Beckie Walton on Aug. 6, 1983, in Fremont, and she survives. He was currently a bartender at Shellukes Bar and Grill. He had also worked at SANDCO and ECI. Doug enjoyed fishing, boating, and was a wonderful cook. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Doug is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beckie Arter of Fremont; two sons, Joshua (Nicole) Arter of Sylvania and Adam (Lacei Senters) Arter of Lindsey; mother, Sharon Greiner of Colon, Michigan; brother, Michael Arter of Colon, Michigan; and three grandchildren, Aiden Senters, Cooper Arter, and Amara Senters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Arter; and sister, Diana "Nasty" Thomson.
Douglas' celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to ProMedica Hospice.
