Donald was a real one-of-a-kind person. He wore weirdness as a badge of honor, using it to provide insights on all angles of existence, which will be sorely missed in this now more mundane world.

Sorry to hear of Don's passing. I remember you all living beside my Grandma Litzenberg house and sometimes hanging around outside with you when visiting. Also your Dad worked with my Mom at Tasty Taters (Vivian). May you find peace and comfort during this time of grief. My condolences to the Grim Family.

Donald was a steadfast friend for 63 years. Well read with a deep understanding of everything scientific. Akin to Dr. Frankinstien one of my earliest memories of Don was... We were in the stygian atmosphere of Larkin Street's1 car shed at my Dad's work bench. Playing with a puddle of mercury. Don noticed a big fly buzzing about. Don cupped his hands and clapped them around the fly. It fell silent to the pockmarked workbench. He said "run get the 9 volt battery from your dad's transistor radio" a real marvel of technology at the time. When I returned with the battery Don was ready with a couple short pieces of wire that he had stripped the off of... No doubt with his GOD given wire strippers (teeth). Holding the wires on the terminals Don zapped the bug it jolted back to consciousness and buzzed away. We cackled like the mad scientists we had become. Love you dearest friend, hold a place for me at your celestial work bench.

Sorry to hear about Donald. Childhood friend from the old neighborhood -- Washington Elementary, Tasty Taters, Groman's Music, Sundry Shoppe, Food Center, Burger Chef -- good stuff! Donald was very creative, intelligent, and had a great sense of humor. His mother made beautiful marble bags for us on her sewing machine, I still have mine upstairs, somewhere. Along with Randy DePuy, we loved learning about photography. I seem to recall a crazy story of Donald hiring a helicoper to get an aerial photo of Findlay High School -- quite a feat in the days before drones! He was always thinking outside of the box! Good guy! RIP, Donald.
