Dennis Eugene "Stretch" Carnicom

Dennis Eugene "Stretch" Carnicom, 81, of North Baltimore, died Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 10, 1943, in Findlay, to Harry and Ellen (Wheeler) Carnicom. He was married to his loving wife, Laura (Hartman) Carnicom, for 47 years, and she survives.

Dennis is also survived by his daughters, Wendy (Mark) Welly of New Riegel and Jessi (Arney) Clark of Rudolph; son, Jeremy (Khrista) Carnicom of Jerry City; grandchildren, Nathan, Cheyenne, Noah, Courtney, Paige, Logan, Payton, Austin, Landon, Addison, Monroe, and Marshall; mother-in-law, Esther (Johnny, deceased) Hartman; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ellen Carnicom; brother, Steve Carnicom; sister, Linda Brown; and beloved son, Justin Carnicom.

Dennis was a gentle giant who never met a stranger. He would spend a lot of his time in his younger days conversing on his CB radio, going by the handle, "Stretch." He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and most of all, his family and friends. He would always crack a joke or make faces to get a smile or a laugh out of you. He loved sharing stories with his grandchildren of his youth and the crazy things he did while growing up. When he did his high-pitched whistle, they all knew to come running. He was a man who worked hard, played hard, and most of all, loved hard.

Per Denny's wishes, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life pot luck will be 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at Rudolph Civic Center, Rudolph.

Arrangements are being handled by SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
