Dennis Ray Burden

Dennis Ray Burden, 76, of Russells Point, passed away Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.

Dennis was born September 16, 1948, in Lima, a son of the late Basil Sr. and Della Eppley Burden. He married Linda Sue Beck on September 28, 1972, in Findlay, and she preceded him in death August 14, 2020. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Jodi Gerritsen; three great-grandchildren, Melissa, Katherine, and Maxton; and five siblings, Bobby, Basil Jr., James, Peggy, and Sandy.

Dennis is survived by two children, James (Kerrie) Burden of Rawson and Linda Sue Burden of Russells Point; 18 grandchildren, Cassy (John), Joey (Gwen), Michael (Jess), Jimmy (Cailyn), Greg (Deb), Billy, Mikey (Jess), Abbie (Schuyler), Katie (Jay), and Jackie; 12 great-grandchildren, Diamond, Johnathon, Davison, Starr, Jasper, Jimmy, Gabby, Ariana, Oakley, Lily, AvaLynn, and Zaidynn; son-in-law, Brad Gerritsen of Lakeview, a sister, Geri (Gene) Warner of Lima; and several nieces and nephews.

Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Findlay High School. Immediately following graduation, Dennis went to bootcamp as a member of the United States Marine Corps and proudly serviced in Vietnam. He worked at Budd Co in Carey and later at Hancor in Findlay, retiring in 2001. Dennis was a member of DAV Chapter No.43 in Findlay and Harold Kerr American Legion Post No.173 in Bellefontaine. Dennis was a proud supporter of Donald Trump. He enjoyed looking at luxury boats, homes and classic cars. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he played Santa Claus for during many Christmases.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2025, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from 11-12 p.m. Burial will be at Huntsville Cemetery, with military rites performed by Marine Corps and Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to his family c/o Shoffstall Funeral Home.
