Dee A. Callahan

Dee A. Callahan, 79, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

She was born July 22, 1944, in Fulton County, the daughter of Delbert and Dorothy (Frysinger) Dunbar. She married LeRoy Callahan on April 22, 1967, and he survives in Findlay.

Dee's survivors also include two sons, Craig (Lucy) Callahan of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Eric Callahan of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Emily, Rachel, Sophia, and Shane Callahan; and sister, Cheryl (Ron) German of Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Dee was a 1962 graduate of Delta High School. She also graduated from Ft. Wayne International Business College and was employed for 22 years as a Mission Secretary at the Church of God General Conference, retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Findlay, where she was a member of Kathryn Circle, taught Sunday School, Bible School, was in charge of the Acolytes, was a Communion Server, and was in the Meth-O-Mates Sunday School Class.

Dee possessed an uncanny ability to make friends with anyone, instantly putting them at ease with her outgoing personality and infectious smile. She saw the good in everyone and through her genuine interest in whoever she encountered, she made people feel special and loved. She enjoyed gardening and travel, but most of all, watching her grandchildren perform in the theater, musicals, tennis, basketball, and golf matches. Of all the European destinations, Dee said she enjoyed Amsterdam the most, even having her picture taken with local soccer fans during the 2010 World Cup.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024, until the time of Dee's memorial service at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. Pastor Amy Miller and Pastor Cathy Davis will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards St. Andrew's United Methodist Church or United Women of Faith at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
