David Hatch Obituary

David Joe Hatch

David Joe Hatch, 65, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 20, 1957, in Findlay, to Ronald Hatch and Marilyn (Welch) Wymer. He married Teresa Burkholder on July 10, 1976. They had two children, Jamie and Jeremy, and later divorced. David then married Tamara Osborne on Nov. 19, 1988, and they shared 34 years of marriage.

David was a 1976 Cory-Rawson High School graduate. He ultimately became a journeyman tool and die maker, retiring after many years. He was an avid golfer who loved golfing with his Sunday morning Wolph Pack golfing buddies. He was also an avid Drone flyer.

Above all, his real passion and joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his mother, Marilyn Wymer; loving wife, Tammy; sons, Jeremy Hatch and Phillip Lee Jr.; daughters, Jamie (David) Kimmet, Sarah (Mike) Thomas, and Allison (Keith) Ritchey; grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Emily Thomas, Torianna Sorg, Brielle Sorg, Hayden Hatch, Henry Hatch, Kynslee Hatch, Aleigha Kimmet, and DJ Kimmet; brother, Robert (Michelle) Vanderhoff; sisters, Belinda (Andy) Sterling, Linda Fisher, Sue (Rich) Smith, and Barb (Bruce) Alge; and he was "favorite uncle Joe" to many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Ronald; brother, Rodney Hatch; stepdad, Donald Wymer; in-laws, Jerry and Sandra Osborne, and Donald Burkholder; sister-in-law, Rachel Osborne; brother-in-law, Mike Fisher; and stepsister, Beth Wymer.

Visitation for friends and family will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, 419-422-1500. David's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Noggle officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

He was known only as Hatch in our Sunday morning golf group. Hatch was one of the original members of our weekly get togethers, as we spent many years chasing that little white ball all over the many courses we shared together. One memory that stands out is the time Hatch was teeing off and swung so hard and at such a steep angle that he drove the ball into the ground, and it ricochet behind him for negative yards. It was one of those things you needed to have on camera to believe. I also got to witness one of his great triumphs with his hole in one at Birch Run Golf Course in North Baltimore. Dave Hatch was a good friend and will be sorely missed, and long remembered! RIP!!
