Charles E. "Chuck" Potteiger

Charles E. "Chuck" Potteiger, 79, of Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Independence House in Fostoria.

He was born on October 20, 1942 in Fostoria to the late Theodore and Marcella (Rumschlag) Potteiger. He married Virginia "Ginny" (Helms) Potteiger on October 21, 1962 and she died on August 18, 2012.

Surviving are three children, John, Robert "Bobby", and Penny; brothers, Ronnie, Johnnie, Pete and Floyd; sisters, Kay Dallen and Debbie Kroeschel; grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Robert and two sisters, Carol Carrell and Darlene Best.

Chuck was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He worked at the Fostoria Foundry and later retired from General Dynamics Lima Tank Plant. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and was a proud supporter of the St. Wendelin Athletic Boosters. Chuck enjoyed camping, spending time with his two dogs and was a avid Trump supporter.

Military honors will be performed by the United Veterans of Fostoria Honor Guard at 11 a.m. on Friday June 24, 2022 at the Veterans Memorial Chapel of Fountain Cemetery. The committal service and burial will follow.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Wendelin Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
