Catherine "Kate" Hostler-Tyson

Catherine "Kate" Hostler-Tyson, 74, of Mt. Blanchard, passed away at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She was born March 6, 1951, in Findlay, the daughter of the late Herman and Marie (Royer) Hostler. She was formerly married to Lawrence Widman, Douglas Haas, and Michael Tyson, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Charles (Christy Korb) Haas, of Weston; and daughters, Pamula (Richard) Bittner of Bowling Green, Melissa (David Turner) Young of Kenton, and Dawn (Jordan) Kober of Mt. Blanchard; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; grandsons, Jonathan A. Haas and Luke Douglas Haas; a brother, Max Hindinger; and a sister, Donna Perkins.

Kate was a volunteer with Girl Scouts of America in the Black Swamp Council. She was a devoted home caregiver to her parents and grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and always had a Dr. Pepper in her hand. She cherishes all the friends she made while working at Lowes and Meijer in Findlay. Her family was her passion, and she touched the lives of those around her with love.

Kate's family deeply appreciates the love and support that her loyal lifetime friends Sam, Jet, Sandy, Cindy, and Donald have shown her.

Visitation will be from 12-5 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Blanchard Cemetery.
