Candice M. "Candy" Mischel

Candice "Candy" Marie Mischel, 76, passed away at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, on September 3, 2025. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Gordon and Mary Jane (Keno) Mischel on October 30, 1948.

Candy became a beloved resident of the Blanchard Valley Residential Program in 1982 following the passing of her father. Over the decades, she was embraced by a devoted community of caregivers and friends. She attended the Blanchard Valley Residential Services Workshop Program and proudly participated in the Special Olympics, especially enjoying bowling.

Candy had a passion for puzzles, socializing, attending events, and going out to eat. Her favorite foods included spaghetti, spinach, hot dogs, eggs, black olives, and cherry pie-simple joys that brought her great happiness.

Those who met Candy were often greeted with an honest curiosity "Are you married?" and a quick "I love you," sometimes even a warm hug. Her loving honesty, bright smile, and gentle hugs made her unforgettable. As her family often said, Candy was just as sweet as her name.

She is survived by her sister Renee Ann Keuler of Mequon, WI; brother-in-law Kenneth Keuler of Mequon, WI; nephew Alexander Keuler and his wife Irina of Fox Point, WI; and great-nephews Max and Simon Keuler, also of Fox Point.

Candy was deeply loved and supported by the dedicated staff at Blanchard Valley Residential Services. Special thanks go to Julie Wilkins, Cindy Wilkins, and Jackie Robinette, her most recent full-time caregiver, for their years of compassionate care and friendship. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing her.

There are currently no scheduled services for Candy. She will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee, WI. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Candy's family.
