Bryce Burkin Obituary
Bryce C. Burkin, 82, of Findlay and formerly of Fremont, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Bridge Hospice, Findlay.
He was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Fremont, the son of Harold and Marjorie (Thompson) Burkin. Bryce attended Pine River High School in Minnesota, graduating in 1958. He married Gloria Swanson on June 2, 2002, at Stone Bridge Church, Findlay.
Bryce spent over 30 years as a Production Supervisor at Singer\Eaton Controls. After it closed in 1990, he returned to Terra Community College to complete his degree in Industrial Electricity. He then went to work for Hunt Wesson until his retirement in 2006.
Bryce enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, watching the Minnesota Vikings play, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Moose lodge 698.
Bryce is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Bethany (Todd Myers) Burkin of Clyde, Barbara (Jon) Mathias of Fremont, Bryan (Sharon) Burkin of Findlay, Brent Burkin of Fremont, Tim (Tracy) Monaghan of Grand Rapids, Shannon (Don) Shartell of Pandora, and Kendra (Todd) James of Findlay; grandchildren, Nicole Mathias, Travis (Adriana) Burkin, Brock Mathias, Thad McGilton, Paige McGilton, Ashley (Tyler) Businger, Kira (Devon) Tantari, Teage (Danielle) Martin, Joshua Shartell, Ryan Shartell, Erin Shartell, Jeff (Jessie) Shartell, and Kaitlyn (Eddie) Green; 15 great-grandchildren; former wife, Nancy Burkin of Fremont; sister, Patricia Christy of Fremont; and nieces, Jody, Jamie, and Rende.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Dorothy; grandparents, Arthur (Jessie) Thompson; sister, Georganna Krueger; stepdaughter, Karen Connors-O'Dell; former wife and mother of his children, Barbara Burkin; great-grandchild, Jodi Tantari; and dogs, Archie, Shatzie, Calie, and Bailey.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Bridge Hospice at Blanchard Valley, Heritage Nursing Home, and Fox Run Manor for their care and support.
Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, with Pastor Jerry Kellogg officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice or North Central Chapter of American Red Cross.
