Brian Eldon Roeder

Brian Eldon Roeder, 96, of Findlay, passed away at Bridge Hospice Care Center Thursday, June 5, 2025. He was born March 20, 1929, in Lima, to the late Eldon Roeder and Gertrude Schmiedebush. He married Barbara Melton August 29, 1958, and she survives in Findlay.

Survivors include his son, Bruce (Jeannie) Roeder of Rawson; a daughter, Rebecca (Stephen Bigley) Roeder Columbus; brother, Ronald Roeder of Lima; and sisters, Blanche McClain of Sidney and Linda Donovan of Bluffton. Brian has three grandchildren, Brent Roeder, Kristen Smith, and Kaitlin Roeder; as well as four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, David Roeder.

Brian graduated from University of Colorado, earning a bachelor's degree of science in business. He went on to work as an accountant at Marathon Oil for 32 years, retiring in 1991. Brian was a member of Parkview Christian Church in Findlay and formerly a member of McComb Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, square dancing, and camping, as well as being a snowbird and often traveling to Florida. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952.

Visitation will be from 5–7 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the funeral home, with Brint Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay, where members of Hancock County Veteran Memorial Squad will accord military honors.
