Betty Smith Obituary

Betty Rose Smith

Betty Rose Smith passed away 7:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2024.

She was born May 15, 1932, to Edward and Nina (Creps) Chamberlain outside of Cygnet. She married Nov. 25, 1950, to her one and only love, Earl D. (Pete) Smith, who went to live with Jesus Christ in 1994 while waiting for her arrival.

Surviving are her five children, Cindy Jo Bechstein, Bowling Green, Daniel E. Smith, Thomas E. Smith, Dallas K. (Karen) Smith all of Findlay, Lisa A. (Randy) Graber, R.R. Wayne; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nie great-great-grandchildren.

Betty received her bachelor's degree from BGSU in 1973 and her master's degree from Ashland University in 1984. She taught elementary school at Elmwood School District for 25 years. She loved her children, family and all animals. Betty was a ferocious reader and loved the outdoors, watching things grow. In the past she loved to paint pictures, jewelry and ceramics. Anything she could paint made her happy.

Betty was baptized at Rudolph Christian Church when she was a child and still loved her church. She has left behind many good friends in Fostoria and all-around Wood County.

Please keep in mind if you would like to make a donation in Betty's honor, she was a huge supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Humane Society and Rudolph Church.

There will be no visitations, and the funeral services will be private.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne.
