Barbara Ann Conley

Barbara Ann Conley, 91, of Findlay, and formerly of Fostoria, passed away at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at The Manor at Greendale, Findlay.

She was born March 8, 1932, in McGuffey, to James Thomas and Hazel (Chalfin) Stevenson. She married Wendell F. Conley on Nov. 27, 1949, in Fostoria, and he preceded her in death March 3, 1981.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Dannie) Childers of N. Fort Myers., Florida, and Wendy Peiffer of Findlay; four grandchildren, Jennie (Ryan) Miller of Coppell, Texas, Sherrie (Tom) Fulmer of Findlay, Jason (Heidi) Olmstead of Findlay, and Amy (Jeremy) Meyers of Findlay; 14 great-grandchildren, Kahla Miller, Adriene (Dylan) Sligar, Kortnee Miller, Aryn Miller, Kaitlyn Fulmer, Gracie Fulmer, Bella Fulmer, Ethan Knoll, Noah Folck, Ayla Meyers, Chelsi (Charlie) Slavey, Ashlynn Olmstead, Wesley (Sierra) Breitigam, and Willie (Reille) Breitigam; three great-great-grandchildren, Ace Slavey, Paisley Breitigam, and Wrenley Breitigam; and sister, Alice Orick of Lima.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Eugene Stevenson, Tom Stevenson, and Willam "Bill" Stevenson; and two sisters, Mary Duvall and Betty Hirsch.

Barbara was a Fostoria High School graduate who became a woman of many accomplishments throughout her lifetime. She was part owner of Shumways by RaeAnn, Treasurer of First Church of the Nazarene for 18 years, and was a member of Child Conservation League where she held various offices. She was also a Campfire Leader for 10 years, fund raising making candy to allow for camping at Lake Erie and taking a train ride. She was "Mrs. Fostoria" 1958.

Barbara was a gifted woman with many talents. She was a licensed baker, baking wedding cakes for which she won numerous awards, homemade breads, and cookies. She was a seamstress, having made wedding gowns for her daughters and their bridesmaids, and a beautiful quilt. Additionally, she was a florist, making flowers from wood fiber.

In her leisure, she enjoyed golfing and bowling, but what she treasured the most was family and the time she spent with them.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Barbara's service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at the funeral home with Chaplain Rod Trim officiating.

Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
