B. Harshbarger Obituary

B. Jean Harshbarger

B. Jean Harshbarger passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. Jean was born May 27, 1933, in Findlay, to the late Lee and Opal (Houser) Slaughterbeck. She married Jack Harshbarger on May 29, 1954 (68 years), and he survives.

Jean is also survived by two daughters, Cindy Longberry and Jill (Doug) Quinlin, both of Findlay; and four grandchildren, Tyler Longberry, Taryn (Mike) Morley, Troy Quinlin, and Courtney Quinlin.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Slaughterbeck.

Jean was a 1951 graduate of Findlay High School. She and Jack were high school sweethearts. They both enjoyed going to their class reunions and reminiscing with their classmates.

Jean was a very kind and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. Her family was everything to her. She loved being busy and spending time with her friends and her family. She loved playing bingo and cards. She was in a bridge club for over 50 years with some very dear ladies. Jean and Jack also loved to travel, especially to Daytona Beach and Destin, Florida, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

In her earlier years, she worked at City Loan and was an office administrator for Pediatric Associates. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Jean's graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at Maple Grove Cemetery with Pastor Robert Cochran officiating. There will be no visitation.

I am so sorry for your loss. I loved seeing your parents at all of Courtney's events, in Vegas, at bingo and even when they stopped in at Jill's work when Court was little. The love they shared was so evident in everything they did and the loving way they looked at each other and cared for one another. That loving, caring way was passed through anyone who was around them. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
