Amy Tebbe Obituary

Amy Louise Tebbe

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of Amy Louise Tebbe, 72, Tuesday, February 3, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. Born March 22, 1954, to Edwin C. (Jim) and Louise Tebbe, Amy was the eighth of nine children.

She is survived by her son, Robert Spencer Heckman, and his fiancée, Rebecca Wilson, of Mesa, Arizona. She also leaves behind her siblings, Anne Pahl (Ned), Jim Tebbe (Darlene), Sue Wilkerson (Dean), Midge Foster (Michael), Mary Wilkinson (Gary), John Tebbe (Sue), Joe Tebbe, and Mark Tebbe (Mary Lou).

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers-in-law, Ned Pahl and Dean Wilkerson; and her sisters-in-law, Denise Tebbe and Darlene Tebbe.

A proud graduate of Saint Michael's and Findlay High School, Amy continued her education at Edgecliff College, Bowling Green State University, and The Ohio State University. While teaching in Sidney and Kenton, she earned a master's degree in reading recovery from The Ohio State University at Marion. Throughout her career, she trained teachers in reading recovery at the University of Findlay and eventually retired from Kenton City Schools in 2013. Even in retirement, she continued her passion for education by teaching part-time at Arlington City Schools and Donnell Junior High School.

In her retirement, Amy was a devoted caregiver to her siblings, often driving them to appointments and preparing meals. She recently found great joy in joining a Bible study group and served as a trusted sounding board for family and friends. Amy was deeply looking forward to her son, Rob's, wedding to Rebecca in October 2026; Rebecca brought her much happiness.

In accordance with her wishes, Amy's body was donated to The Ohio State University. Funeral arrangements are currently pending.

For those who wish to honor her memory, donations may be made to Cat Welfare, Findlay Humane Society, or an educational charity of donor's choice.
