Alma A. Shoemaker

Alma A. Shoemaker, 69, of Bloomdale, passed away at 5:41 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at her residence.

She was born July 4, 1953, in Harlingen, Texas, to the late Alonzo and Alice (Martinez) Benavides. She married Randy Shoemaker Sr. and they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 2022.

Alma is survived by her husband; sons, Earl (Amy Floyd) Shoemaker of Coxs Mills, West Virginia, and Randy (Amie Tong) Shoemaker Jr. of Findlay; daughter, Ada (William) Kitchen of Bloomdale; brothers, Arnold Benavides of Findlay, Alfred Benavides of Findlay, Albert (Maria) Benavides of Georgia, Adrian Benavides of Pennsylvania, and Alan Jon Benavides of South Carolina; sisters, Dolly (Randy) Story of Beavercreek and Audra (Robert) Johns of Kentucky; beloved grandchildren, Emilee, Earl, Sam, and Brandon; and one great-grandchild.

Alma was a homemaker and formerly worked at Glenwood Middle School in the cafeteria and at Meijer. She, along with her parents, volunteered for many years with Findlay High School Athletic Department, taking and selling tickets for athletic events. Alma's greatest love and joy in life was caring for her family, always putting them first.

Alma's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at the funeral home.
