Allen D. Bowers

Allen D. Bowers, 85, of Deshler, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born June 4, 1937, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of the late Clarence and Elsie (Donaldson) Bowers. In 2001, he married his high school sweet heart, Dina (Scheerer) Bowers, and she survives.

Survivors also include his sons, Ray (Aryann) Bowers of Bowling Green, Darryl (Laura) Newcomer of North Baltimore, Rick Newcomer of Columbus, and Michael Newcomer of Findlay; daughter, Victoria Marie (Justin) Hendren of McComb; brother, Bob (Gerda) Bowers of Venice, Florida; grandchildren, Baylee and Mackenzy Bowers, Austen, Logan, Cameron, Ian, and Aiden Hendren, Garrett Clark-Rader, and Levi Newcomer; and great-grandchild, Liam Hendren. Preceding him in death were his parents; and son, Earl "Peanut" Newcomer.

Allen was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church, Deshler, North Baltimore Masonic Lodge, and retired from Honeywell, Fostoria. Allen enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as a good cigar.

Graveside memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at McComb Union Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Waller officiating. Military honors will be accorded by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.
