Alexander R. "Alex" Malagon

Alexander R. "Alex" Malagon, 46, of Fostoria, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at his sister's home in Findlay surrounded by his family.

Alex was born Oct. 5, 1977, in Fostoria, to Nicholas S. "Nick" Malagon and Guadalupe Diaz.

Alex is survived by his son, Savas Malagon of Fostoria; father, Nicholas S. "Nick" Malagon of Fostoria; sisters, Corina S. Malagon and Jessica A. Malagon of Findlay; eight nieces and nephews, Voshon Cousin, Valencia Cousin, Olivia Brinker, Delela Malagon, Taliya Payne, Serenity Green, Sincere Green, and Aiyana Payne; one great-niece; and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Diaz (2000).

Alex was a 1998 graduate of Fostoria High School and attended Terra Technical School, studying CAD. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

Alex enjoyed fishing, fast cars, and music, but most of all, he loved his family and all the love and support for him these past years.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where a Vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Alfredo Diaz.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A funeral lunch will then take place in the parish hall of St. Wendelin Church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Victims of Violent Crimes or St. Catherine's Care Center Activity Fund.
