Aaron G. George

Aaron Gene George, 67, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at UTMC following a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Aaron was born May 5, 1956, in Findlay, to A. Gene and Sheila L. (Weakly) George, who preceded him in death. He married Rhonda Powell on Sept. 23, 2011, and she survives.

They have two children, Jaime, who is deceased, and Max who survives. Aaron is also survived by his stepchildren, Samantha Leaper, Shalaina Duffy, JJ Leaper, and Eric Kurtz; stepgrandchildren, Alex Francis, Cadence Leaper, Julianna Slark, and Abby Slark; father-in-law, Dick Powell; mother-in-law, Charlotte Pelphrey (David, deceased); brothers-in-law, Rick Powell, Dale Powell, Nile Powell, Robert Williamson, and Jim Pelphrey; and sisters-in-law, Judy Pelphrey, Kathie Hamilton (Mark), and Julie Switzer (Steve).

In addition, Aaron is survived by a brother, Tadd George of Findlay; and two sisters, Sharon (Roger) Powell of Findlay and Susan (Mark) Jackson of St. Augustine, Florida. His sister, Karen George, preceded Aaron in death.

Aaron graduated from Findlay High School. Aaron was an excellent marksman, winning many titles in his teen years. He was a machinist, welder, bartender, semi-truck driver, and talented artist. Aaron loved his dogs, Boo and Wilson, as well as many other pets.

Visitation for friends and family will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, until the time of Aaron's funeral at 11:30 a.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, 419-422-1500. Interment will follow at Wharton Cemetery in Wyandot County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Aaron's name may be made to the family in care of Hufford Family Funeral Home.
