Rochelle Wilson Obituary

Rochelle "Rocky" F. Wilson, 59, of Peoria Heights, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family.
Rocky was born in Peoria on October 12, 1965 to John Jr. and Janice (Smith) Backus. They preceded her in death along with one brother, Jerry "Nik" Backus.
She married Thomas "Tom" Wilson on Valentine's Day in 1987 in Port Orchard, Washington. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Jessica (Derek) Moser and Jared Wilson; brothers, Richard (Jolly) Backus and John F. Backus III; and grandchildren, Owen Moser and Teagan Moser.
Rocky worked many places throughout her life, including John Bee, Ruppman, and the post office.
She loved football - especially when Charles Tillman or Owen Moser were playing. She spent a lot of time silently judging the people singing karaoke at her favorite dive bars.
No one has ever loved as hard as Rocky. She had a way of making every person she encountered feel like they were the most important person in the world.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at the Premier Event and Entertainment Center in Peoria on her birthday, Sunday, October 12, 2025, from noon to 5:00 PM. It is requested that those who attend wear Tie-Dye in remembrance of her.
A memorial visitation for Rocky will also be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at The Wilton Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
