William Reynolds Obituary

William "Bill" Reynolds

William "Bill" Reynolds, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Birchaven Village Friday, Dec. 20, 2024. Bill was born Nov. 24, 1931, to the late Paul and Pearl Reynolds in Decatur, Indiana. He graduated from Brighton High School and then obtained his business degree from International College of Business in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On May 24, 1959, Bill married Carol Needles, and she survives along with two sons, Steve (Melissa) and David (Sheri) from Nashville, Tennessee, as well as four grandchildren, Madelyn and Seth of Nashville and Jake "John" Reynolds (Lindsay) and Elizabeth of Nashville; and two great-grandchildren, Kylar and Roxas.

Preceding Bill in death are his two brothers, Don and Ed; and a sister, Patsy Leland.

Bill worked for a moving van company for a short period and then was employed by Ohio Oil Company (Marathon Oil) in 1953, where he worked for over 42 years, mainly in the Refining and Marketing department as an accounting analyst. He sang in the Ohio Oil Chorus. He belonged to Pioneer Antique Auto Club (serving as president) and Heirloom Antique Study Club and was a member of YMCA for over 50 years. Bill was an active member of St Paul's Church, where he served on many committees, taught Sunday School in the children's department, and volunteered at community dinners. His primary interest, though, was singing in the choir, which he did (even in retirement) for over 60 years. He also spent many hours as a volunteer at Christian Clearing House.

Bill received excellent care from the entire Birchaven Village staff, and the family sincerely thanks them along with Bridge Hospice.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at St. Paul's Church, 218 E. Sandusky St, Findlay, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m.Friday until the time of service. Pastor Scott Fleming will officiate, and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.

Memorial contributions can be given to St. Paul's Church, 218 E. Sandusky St., Findlay, OH 45840 or Christian Clearing House, 1800 N. Blanchard St #107, Findlay, OH 45840.
