William Freeman Obituary

William Bill Freeman Jr.

William (Bill) Freeman Jr., 61, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1960, to Patricia (Woodruff) Freeman and William Freeman Sr. He married Laura LaWarre-Freeman on May 18, 2012, in Findlay, and spent a wonderful 10 years together.

He is survived by wife, Laura LaWarre-Freeman of Fostoria; son, William (Hailey) Freeman of Fostoria; daughters, Brandy Freeman of Findlay, Sarah (Ryan Cooper) Freeman of Carey, and Ellen (Steve Buss) Freeman of Deshler; stepsons, Jonathan Calmus of Bluffton and Alex Calmus of Columbus; brothers, Danny Freeman of Columbus, Joe (Cindy) Freeman of Marysville, Matt Freeman of Port Clinton, and Roger (Deb) Freeman of Cleveland; sister, Joyce Little of Bowling Green; and 12 grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren, Payslee and Xavier.

William was a proud U.S. Army veteran and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his time in the military, William served in numerous posts, both foreign and domestic, but most notably three years as a Drill Sergeant where he loved "turning boys into men." After leaving the military, William worked at Honeywell, Fostoria, where he earned his Journeyman's License in Industrial Maintenance and became the workaholic everyone knew and loved. William retired from Treves, Inc. in 2022 as Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, and a graduate of Elmwood High School and Owens Community College. William was also a member of UAW Local 533, UCOA, and a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America. William was known for his vast knowledge and ability to work on anything and everything.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Jerry City Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by United Veterans of Fostoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Ohio Cuddle Cot Campaign.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Bridge Hospice of Findlay, specifically Heather Hasselbach, as well as Fostoria Community Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy for their kindness and generosity.
