Virginia Sadler Obituary
Virginia Louise Sadler, 76, of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at her home.
She was born June 9, 1946, in Portsmouth, to the late David Nathaniel and Anna Louise Blevins Journey.
Virginia is survived by a son, Jack Lee (Brenda) Sadler Jr.; daughter, Vicki Lynn (Nathan) Simon; seven brothers, David, Bart, Sam, Matt, Reese, Tony, and Teddy Journey; two sisters, Amanda Newman and Peggy Fegly; four grandchildren, Logan Moore Janes, Alison Victoria (Eli) Schlievert, Payton James Simon, and Madison Elizabeth Simon; two stepgrandchildren, Christy Gurga and Matthew Perkins; six great-grandchildren, Zeyk, Celia, Haidyn, Nova, Tristan, and Lilli; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lee Sadler Sr., whom she married Jan. 30, 1965; and two sisters, Lois Ann Journey and Wanda Ann Journey.
Virginia's funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Gary Newman officiating. Interment will be at Stoney Run Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
