Virginia Viola Hunter

Following a brief illness, Virginia Viola (Arnold) Hunter, 87, of Arlington, passed from this earth into the presence of Jesus Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born to Edward and Norma (Bockey) Arnold, March 26, 1938, at the family home in Williamstown, Ohio. Virginia married Paul E. Hunter, September 14, 1957, and they shared 61 years of marriage together prior to his death in 2018. Her parents; brother, Dean Arnold; and sister, Sharon Buess; also preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Jean (Jack) Bash, Paul Dean (Holly) Hunter, Tim (Amy) Hunter, and Kay (Mike) Daniels. Also surviving Virginia are her grandchildren, Brian (Nichole) Bash, Kristen Bash, Kevin (Alexa) Bash, Steven (Kathryn) Bash, Rachel (Ross) Shoup, Katie (Aaron) Cheney, Jessica (Cody) Schmidt, Andrew (Gabriella) Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Sarah (Jon) Suter, Joshua (Kylie) Hunter, Brittany (Jacob) Kiesler and Bethany Daniels, as well as 18 great grandchildren, with two on the way.

Virginia's life revolved around her faith, family and friendships. When her children were younger, she stayed home with them, giving her time to teach many piano students during those years. Later, she chose to help students as a teacher's aide at Riverdale School system for several years until her retirement. Her children and grandchildren kept her quite involved in the community with their many sporting events, musicals and concerts. One of the highlights of her life in more recent years was the monthly luncheons shared with her high school classmates. During her lifetime, she also enjoyed involvement with her church, participating in the quilting group and playing the organ and piano, which she continued to do prior to her illness. Her pleasant demeanor and faithful witness were an example to all and will truly be missed.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Community Bible Church, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Friday until time of service. Pastor Toriano Henry will officiate. Burial will be at Houcktown Cemetery. Memorial contribu-tions can be made in memory of Virginia to Community Bible Church, 22022 US 68, Forest, OH 45843 (4 miles south of Arlington, OH) or Gideons International.
