Susan Reitman Obituary

Susan Elizabeth (Dillon) Reitman

Susan Elizabeth (nee Dillon) Reitman, 62, formerly of Findlay, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at her home in Danville, Kentucky, after a long illness.

Susan was born Oct. 13, 1960, in Findlay, to Joseph and Nancy (Sager) Dillon.

Since 2018, Susan battled a rare and incurable brain disease that eventually robbed her of her motor skills, but not of her ability to live every day throughout her ordeal with incredible bravery and dignity. Everyone who knew Susan remembers her as a kind and generous person, but she also was as tough as a bag of nails and her courage and unwillingness to give up in the darkest of times served as an inspiration to all who were with her during her final days.

Susan was a graduate of what then was known as College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati and she was a proud lifelong "Mountie." Her career took her in several directions through the years, but the one thing each position had in common was customer service and Susan enjoyed nothing more than helping people. Her greatest vocation, however, was when she left the working world to be a mother.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew her, including her husband of 29 years, John Reitman; daughter, Lauren Reitman; mother, Nancy Dillon; brothers, Timothy Dillon (Pam), Patrick Dillon (Justine), and Michael Dillon (Lynn); sister, Megan Dillon; large extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces; countless cherished friends; and her life-long best friend, Kelly Fletcher.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Joseph.

Thanks go out to her caregiver, Tammy Sims, and the staff at Heritage Hospice in Danville, Kentucky, who took such loving care of her, especially Lindsay, Melissa, Sue, Jacob, and Andre.

Mass will be said for Susan at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Downtown Chapel, 617 W. Main Cross St., Findlay, Ohio, 45840. All are welcome.

Her cremains will be interred at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Findlay.
