Steven Ross Obituary

Steven Ross

Steve Ross, of Findlay, passed away July 18, 2025, at the age of 76. His wife, Sue, was by his side.

Steve was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and graduated from Iowa State University with an engineering degree. Then he earned his master's degree at the University of Iowa. Between earning his degrees, he spent a year traveling across the country. He took off in an old van, slept on beaches or in the van, and took odd jobs as needed to finance the trip.

He met and married Sue in Wisconsin, and they were happily married for 45 years. They moved to Findlay in 1980, when Steve began his career with Marathon Oil Company.

Steve was a man of many interests. He spent a lot of time sailing and kayaking as he was always happiest on the water. He also enjoyed biking, playing bridge, photography, traveling, music, lively conversation, ice cream, and hanging out with his friends.

He will be missed, but will live on in the memories of and stories told by the people who loved him.

Burial will be private. A celebration of his life will be at a later date. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME has been entrusted with the arrangements.
