Scott Linhart Obituary

Scott D. Linhart

Scott D. Linhart, 59, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at Ohio State University Medical Center surrounded by his family after a short fight with cancer.

Scott was born July 8, 1963, in Canton, to Walter and Sylvia Sue (Shaw) Linhart. Scott married Tammy Bert on Aug. 2, 1986, in Alliance, and she survives in Upper Sandusky. They just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.

Scott is also survived by his three children: Nikki (Steve) Doseck of Grand Rapids, Ohio, Marissa (Kevan) Green of Delaware, and Brandon (Nicole Reichard) Linhart of Newbury; three grandchildren, Cooper, Skylar, and Owen; father, Walter (JoAnn) Linhart of Alliance; brother, Mike (Trisha) Linhart of Salem; and sister, Beth (Tim) Abraham of Canfield.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Sue Linhart.

Scott graduated from Marlington High School in 1981 and then went on to attend Mount Union College in Alliance, where he received his Bachelor's degree in business. For over 20 years, he worked at Worthington Industries, Upper Sandusky, before his most recent career at SumiRiko, where he was Vice President of Materials.

Scott was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky.

Scott enjoyed going camping and going on family vacations to Hilton Head. He also enjoyed coaching his kid's sports teams while they were growing up and if not coaching, he was very involved in their sporting events. Above all else, Scott valued his family more than anything. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. Scott loved gardening, especially caring for his tomato plants, collecting antiques, going to auctions, and garage sales.

A memorial service for Scott will be 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Pastor Doug Pummell.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Please consider making a memorial donation to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.

Thinking of your family on this the first anniversary. Scott was my husbands boss, and he introduced us to your family once in Amish Country at the Guggisberg Inn restaurant. He shared great work and life advise with my husband over the years. In fact my husband still stops and thinks what would Scott say or do. He asked my husband to let him know if he was going bald in back, because he said no one else would tell him. (Lol). We were unsure how to get these things to you, and finally the chance came along. Hoping you can name this star and look up to it when your missing him. Prayers still for comfort. Just wanted you to know he was an awesome guy and he truly loved his family. He talked about you all a lot.

We are so sorry for your loss. Scott truly was a great guy. He was always kind and patient with me at work. Always had a smile on his face. We ran into your family in Charm, Ohio. Out to eat. He looked so happy that day to have his family with him. We talked a lot about that area. He will be missed for sure. He not only was my boss, coworker, but most importantly my friend. Work will never be the same without him. Till we meet again my friend.
