Scott Garey Obituary

Scott R. Garey

Scott R. Garey, 56, of Findlay, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025. He was born in Bluffton, March 6, 1969, to Edward and Linda Garey. Scott was a 1987 graduate of McComb High School. On November 6, 1993, Scott married Holly Lewis, and she survives along with a son, Jordan (Amber) Garey of North Baltimore. Mr. Garey is also survived by his grandchildren, Nevaeh and Presley Garey; brother, Jeff Garey of Findlay; sister, Kristy (Matt) Liwo of Toledo; and nephews, Riley and Jaxon Liwo.

Scott was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the battleship Missouri and the USS Proteus. He was hardworking and worked for many years at Nissin Brake. He enjoyed woodworking and crafts. Scott also loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hiking and hunting. Scott had a big heart and loved to laugh and joke with people.

Scott's Memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Friday until time of service. Full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. A private burial will take place at a later date.
