Scott Banks Obituary

Scott Banks

Scott Banks, 62, of Findlay, passed from this life into eternal life Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He was born Oct. 26, 1960, in Tiffin, to James and Barbara Banks.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Banks; five siblings, Becky Banks and Penny (Dennis) Sokol, both of Findlay, Deb Webb and Betty (Trigg) Peterson, both of Mesa, Arizona, and John Banks of McComb; niece, Hannah Sokol; nephew, Isaac Sokol; and great-nephew, Drake Hall.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Banks.

Scott touched the lives of many people in Findlay, Tampa, and around the world via pen pals. He loved to travel, crochet, and had a passion for music, trains, photography, cooking/baking, holiday decorations, lighthouses, and gardening. Scott enjoyed giving to others. He would bake pies and other baked goods just to give to friends and co-workers. He passed out crocheted doilies and coasters to those who crossed his path. His infectious laugh brought life to the room.

Scott graduated from Findlay High School and Grand Rapids Bible College.

Scott will leave a big hole in our lives and hearts as a treasured son, brother, uncle, and friend, but we know he is with Jesus and we will see him again.

Scott's funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, in the chapel at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, with Pastor Mike Maskell officiating. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions in Scott's name can be made to American Heart Association or the family in care of the funeral home.

HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, 419-422-1500, is honored to serve Scott's family.

So many great memories of Scott growing up in Youth Group then serving as a leader. A great navigator on trips to NYC from Word of Life. Trip to visit us when we lived in London. Then later we were able to visit in Florida when we became snowbirds.

How reassuring to know that your sorrow is not like those who have no Hope. I was so sorry to hear of Scott´s home going, but thankful that he is now with Jesus, and his earthly struggles are passed. I remember how my mom and Scott would joke and laugh together. I´m thankful for the friendship fellowship in Christ that our families have shared over more than five decades. My prayers for you all will continue in the days to come. Much love to you all... Sharon
