Sally Clevenger Obituary

Sally Lou King Clevenger

Sally Lou King Clevenger entered Heaven Wednesday, March 12, 2025. She was born in Findlay May 15, 1937, to the late Eldon E. and Eva M. (Fisher) King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert (Bob) L. Clevenger. She is survived by her daughter, Candace of Findlay; son, David of Noblesville, Indiana; and brother, John E. King (Susie) of Tysons, Virginia. Sally attended all 12 years of school in Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School in 1955, where she played tenor saxophone in the marching band and was a member of the chorus, saxophone trio and quartet, dance band, and operetta. She earned her degree in education at Otterbein University. Sally began her career as a teacher, and her favorite classes were kindergarten and seventh grade. She became a successful residential realtor/broker in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and El Dorado Hills, California. Sally enjoyed flower gardening, baking cakes, cookies, and pies, entertaining family and friends, dogs and cats, the garden club, and having fun in life. She was excellent daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, realtor, hostess, and friend.

Bob passed December 28, 2020, when we were unable to gather safely. He was born in Findlay January 24, 1935, to the late Zern B. and Beatrice E. (Radabaugh) Clevenger. He was a graduate of Findlay High School (1953), where he participated in Hi-Y, chapel, Thespians, home room basketball, and the math club. He earned his degree in business administration at the University of Findlay (1957). Bob's career with the federal government took the family from Ohio to Michigan to Georgia, back to Michigan, ending with a final home in El Dorado Hills. Sally returned to Findlay in 2023 and resided at Sunrise of Findlay.

Sally and Bob were friendly fixtures in all their neighborhoods. In El Dorado Hills for over 25 years, Bob held "court" from his driveway/garage welcoming neighbors always armed with a cigar and a bright, engaging smile. When Sally and Bob remodeled their kitchen 20 years ago, they spent much time in their garage chatting with neighbors. Both were meticulous with their yard, and Sally loved to plant flowers beds brimming with colorful blooms.

Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of life will be for both Sally and Bob at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky St. Findlay, OH.

Memorials contribu-tions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio chapter in care of the funeral home.
