Ruth A. Thomas

Ruth A. Thomas, 90, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

She was born July 30, 1932, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, to Lloyd and Marie (Jacobs) Forbus. She married Donald L. "Don" Thomas on March 21, 1959, and he survives.

Ruth is also survived by her children, Cynthia Brown of Wexford, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey (Tina) Thomas of Greer, South Carolina, and Andrew (Jeanette) Thomas of Findlay; sister, Janet Holland of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; and five grandchildren, Blair Brown of Massachusetts, Kyle Brown of South Carolina, Morgan Thomas of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Matthew Thomas of Findlay, and Joshua Thomas of South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hubert Forbus of Florida; and sister, Betty Mitchell of Louisiana.

Ruth worked in younger years for C and P, Indiana Bell, and Ohio Bell as an operator. Additionally, she was employed 12 years at Judson Palmer Home, Findlay. She enjoyed working with the older generations. Ruth was a member of College First Church of God and was faithful to work with the small children in the church's nursery.

She loved playing golf and bridge including duplicate. Ruth was excellent at jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and of course Jeopardy! Ruth and Don enjoyed traveling together. He often spoiled her by bringing home her favorite… chocolate.

Visitation for family and friends will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. Ruth's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Welker officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
