Rolland Rodabaugh Obituary
Rolland L. "Pete" Rodabaugh, 89, of Mt. Blanchard, died at 6:35 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Pete was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Delaware Township in Hancock County, to the late Berley and Jesse (Thomas) Rodabaugh. He married Beverly Bowman on Jan. 2, 1955, and she preceded him in death Sept. 25, 2008.
Surviving is a daughter, Cindy (Daniel) Riegle of rural Arlington; son, John R. (Diane) Rodabaugh of Mt. Blanchard; family adopted son, Jeff (Cheryl) Rodabaugh of rural Arlington; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jon) Alger, Nicole (Jared) Benedict, Shane (Kirsten) Rodabaugh, Morganne (Ian Gillmor), and Malory (Mark Charles); and eight great-grandchildren, Edinson, Ehram, Ellison, and Eljer Alger, Ava, Norah, and Sutton Benedict, and Ella Rodabaugh.
Pete was preceded in death by four brothers, Tom, Dean, Ray, and an infant brother; and sister, Madge Iams.
Pete was a 1953 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School and a lifelong member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church. Pete was a Korean War veteran. He was a typesetter at Republican Courier for many years. Pete was self-employed at J&R Body Shop in Forest and a school bus driver for Riverdale Schools for over 20 years.
Pete could talk to anyone, enjoyed cutting wood, and had a favorite pet, Rudy.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Pete's funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. Pastor Brett Kelly will officiate and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be given to either the church or Delaware Township Fire Department. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
