Roberto Zamora

Roberto "Shorty" "Uncle Bobo" Zamora, 73, of Hoytville, was called home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He was born September 15, 1952, to the late Jesus and Magdalena (Martinez) Zamora. He married Virginia Ruth (Clark), and she preceded him in death.

After more than a decade of fighting, God saw his suffering and decided it was time for him to rest. In his younger years, he was a notable member of the Hoytville community and proudly served Jackson Township Hoytville Volunteer Fire Department. Robert was known for always lending a hand to those in need, especially through his love of lawn care. His favorite pastime was tinkering in his shed and with his lawnmowers. He was always riding around town on his mower to see where help was needed. Throughout his life, he was a source of light, humor, and love to his family and friends, even in the darkest moments. He was the life of the party, loved his cumbias, and his grito could be heard for miles around. He was an "Uncle" to the whole community and will be missed by all who knew him.

Robert has been reunited with his cherished son, Joseph; his parents; and siblings, Casimiro Zamora, Rosalio Zamora, Jesus Zamora Jr., Selia Z. Rey, and Francisca Perez, who have passed before him.

He is survived by his sons, Bobby Zamora of Arizona and Terry Miller of Holland, Ohio; daughter, Jeannie Zamora; brother, Julian (Irene) Zamora of Payne; sisters, Florintina Cortez of Hoytville and Ufemia (Johnny) Cortez of Hoytville; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his chihuahua companion, Buddy.

Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. prior to service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
