Robert Stacy Obituary

Robert Lee Stacy

Robert Lee Stacy, 91, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Serenity Senior Living of Arlington. He will be dearly missed.

He was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Findlay to Paul and Helen(Riter) Stacy. He was an only child. Robert married Patricia Spearman, his childhood sweetheart, September 23, 1950. They celebrated 73 years of marriage together. Patricia survives her husband.

Robert was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church of Findlay. He served as a trustee and usher for many years. Robert was instrumental in helping to build St. John's Lutheran Church of Findlay.

Farming was his passion and Robert remained involved even after retirement. You would see him driving the countryside checking fields and delivering lunches almost daily. He'd loved watching the crops grow to a successful harvest. Robert was recognized with the Hancock County Outstanding Young Farmers Award early in his career. He was a true farmer.

Robert was a former member of Hancock County Cattleman's Association. He was awarded the Hancock County Cattleman of the Year Award twice in his lifetime. Robert traveled to Louisville, Kentucky for the National Livestock Show to help his oldest son compete with his steer in 1972. He also helped his daughter compete in Denver, Colorado with the family steer. The next adventure was to help

his younger son compete at the Ohio State Fair in 1981 to successfully win Grand Champion. Robert remained involved as the grandchildren also competed at the Hancock County Fair with dairy feeders and steers at the Ohio State Fair. He shared his love and knowledge of cattle with his family through the generations.

Many years were spent with his wife at Coldwater Lake, Michigan. They owned a lakeside property where they enjoyed boating, fishing, and water skiing with the family. Many good memories were made with his family, cousins, and friends on the water. Later in life, Robert and Patricia enjoyed winter retirement in Mesa, Arizona. They made many friendships and enjoyed the retirement life.

Robert is survived by his wife Patricia. He is also survived by his children, Garry(Darla) Stacy, Chery(Randy) Francis, and Rick(Christine), Stacy, all of Arlington; six grandchildren, Tracy(Brian) Robinson of Orlando, Florida, Denise(Grant) Durenberger, Mark(Kim) Stacy, and Nic(Samantha) Stacy; all of Arlington, Christi(Joshua) Bassler of Upper Sandusky, and Kathryn(Joe) Lortz of Carey; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents and daughter Diana Spears of Deland, Florida.

A private graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, officiated by Friar Tucker O'Leary. The interment will be at Houcktown Cemetery.
