Robert Pierce Obituary

Robert Pierce

Robert "Bob" S. Pierce, 76, of Findlay, died at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born November 18, 1949, in Findlay, to the late Robert and Katherine (Moore) Pierce.

Bob was a very industrious individual. At age 6, Bob started working for Max Fenberg, taking care of horses and mowing yards, and was sponsored by Max in the Soap Box Derby. Bob had a paper route, built a minibike, which he then traded for a go-cart. When Bob was 12, he went to work for Jerry Solt, building and racing go-carts. While in high school, he worked at Daybrook, welding deuce-and-a-half truck beds during night shifts.

Bob graduated from Findlay High School in 1969. He then served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the 2nd 501st Company C, 101st Airborne, in the triple canopy jungle for 14 months. After his service, Bob proudly became an active member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 43 and Findlay Military Association.

When Bob came home from his military service, he met his wonderful Georgia girl. He bought a Corvette and then built a shop where he repaired wrecked Corvettes for resale. He found a 150-year-old cabin in Gilboa, disassembled it, brought it to Findlay, and rebuilt it for his home.

Bob's passion for cars also extended to military vehicles. He bought a Vietnam-era deuce-and-a-half truck and a military Jeep for parades, shows, and events. Bob was a member of Ohio Motor Pool.

Bob worked at Whirlpool and, after retirement, enjoyed morning coffee at McDonald's with his buddies. In his own words, "What a RIDE!"

Bob is survived by his significant other, Georgia Wonderly of Findlay, and his sister, Linda Fleckenstein of Fort Loramie.

Visitation for Bob will be from noon -1 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Dan Metzger will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will provide full military graveside honors.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 43 or Flag City Honor Flight.

Yesterday

We've known Bob many years and it was an honor to know him. He was always there to help at meetings or events. He was very active by going to parades and showing his military vehicles at Armed Forces Day Celebration. He will be sorely missed by all of us but especially by those who knew him well.

Yesterday

I have fond memories of Bob (and Georgia). I don´t think I ever heard his say an unkind word. He will be missed.
